Isn’t she beautiful??

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I had the pleasure of photographing this girl. She is so beautiful! I couldn’t wait to get home and edit these as soon as I got home! I don’t photograph this age too much, but what a joy! It’s much different than chasing around a 2 year old!

A fun little man…

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

This guy was so FUN to photograph! He was such a great little kid! He’s turning 5 just like my little guy and so much fun to talk to! (I do need to work on my knock-knock jokes!!!)

Mom had some great furniture that I was able to drag outdoors!

Happy Birthday Big Guy!

My biggest family yet!

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I am SOO behind on blogging! I’ve had a lot of personal stuff going on and just didn’t have the time, but I’m back!

First up, a few pics from a REALLY nice family I photographed. This is the most people I’ve photographed in a session and it was a lot of fun! We had to do 2 different sessions because 15 minutes into the first one, a HUGE storm hit.

The littlest guy was tons of laughs(just check out his faces in some of these photos!! LOL!!!)

Check out the two butterflies in this grass shot(just ‘caught’ them saying hi and had to include it!!)

I’ll be back later with some more of other sessions!!!

A little mishap….

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Yesterday, my kids were at their grandmother’s house and Jon put Isabella up on the couch, well, she fell off and got hurt. When I got there, I noticed that she was not moving her right arm as much as she should be. So, after being told what happened, I took her right to the ER. Sure enough, she broke her collarbone. Oh, I cried. They put her in a clavicle strap, that has to stay on and she’s doing a lot better with it on, but she can’t bump it or anything. So, I’m watching her like a hawk(she’s on my lap now) for a little bit. So, I just wanted to apologize for emails I haven’t responded to, or people I have to call and pictures I have to finish editing. I just can’t leave her with a sitter right now, because I don’t want someone else to have to worry about her getting hurt again. And with 2 older siblings that are still quite young, it’s hard for them to completely understand(and remember) what’s going on with her. SO, keeping them from messing with her is not too easy.  BUT…I AM working on things while dad is home and I WILL have my tasks completed. I truly apologize if I’m a little late, but I hope you understand!

Here’s a little shot of her with her clavicle brace….poor baby!

Christmas in JULY!!!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Hey Everyone!

It’s that time again and I have already started booking for Christmas sessions. I am only one person and will be doing a limited amount of sessions, so feel free to contact me at any time.

Things are going to be a little different this year(last year was my first REAL christmas season in business and I learned from my mistakes).  The CUT OFF DATE for me to TAKE your photos is the weekend before Thanksgiving (November 22nd (which I’m already booked for). (I am not taking photos in december…I try to make each session very personal and take the time to edit the pictures carefully and don’t want to rush through anyone’s photos) PLUS I want to enjoy MY family this year for christmas and not be crazy UP UNTIL Christmas.

Also, because I have a limited number of sessions, and I had a problem last year of a couple people canceling their session without rescheduling, and I had already turned away people because I was fully booked, I am collecting the $50 session fee(for 4 people) AT THE TIME OF YOU BOOKING YOUR APPT. This ONLY applies to the months of October and November. Your session will be ‘penciled in’ for 3 days, in that time I must recieve the session fee. You can RESCHEDULE your appointment (by January 15th in any spots that I may have left) if need be, and still have the $50 for the session fee. But if you completely CANCEL, you do not recieve your session fee back. By making the appointment, you are booking my time and I am turning away other potential clients for that time. So, I hope everyone understands. If you contact me and I am completely booked already, I can refer you to ANOTHER GREAT photographer here in Indiana.

Thanks for understanding!

My best friend’s wedding

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I had the HONOR of being in my best friend, Sarita’s wedding in June.  I asked if it was ok to bring my camera along, but as soon as the hired photog got there, I’d put it away. So, I started documenting from the time we started getting ready. And here’s just an idea of what a FULL COVERAGE wedding from us is like. The hired photog, Heather(I made a new friend!), was really cool and told me to go ahead and keep my camera out for the post-wedding shots. Of course, I don’t have any from the ACTUAL CEREMONY, because I as in it!

They’re such a beautiful couple and moving away from me :( Well, further away. This took place in Erie and we did photos on the beach, bu they’re moving to Arizona!!! I love you guys and wish you the best.

(If you look REALLY closely….you may catch a glimpse of me in one of these pictures(hint…mirror and camera in face)

Ok, some nice ones of my kiddos

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

And I DO get the occasional ‘nice’ ones. So, I thought I’d share. I needed to take a break from editing client sessions, so I edited a couple of these. (I have a whole session on my kiddos and my neices, but I have no time right now to edit them up properly…but WOW are my nieces beautiful (and so are my kiddos). I might’ve gotten some website keepers

Miss Olivia was sleeping when I did the other two, and the ones when she woke up…not so great. But I had a great chance to photograph her for a clothing website and LOVED this one. It’s right after 7pm and the sun was beautiful. I tried taking some of the orange glow from the sun out of her, but I don’t think I did too well…have to keep working on it.

I just love jon’s smile(when it’s a REAL one). I make him tell ME jokes and make himself laugh. He loves it!

Isabella didn’t like the IVY much, but I thought it was BEAUTIFUL! I would love to lay a sleeping baby in it all wrapped up in a blanket…anybody got a baby!! LOL!!!

Somedays….

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

My kids are my main practice subjects when I’m trying new techniques/ideas/etc. They just LOVE it(or not)!

I had to send my 28-70 away to Nikon to be adjusted and when it came back, I was testing it out…of course you can see how excited Isabella was.

Sometimes I get some nice ones, but usually they say “mom, stop with the camera” And I didn’t think i was that bad!

Oh well, thought this was cute and I would share. I’ve been so busy lately, but looking through pics, this made me smile!
